Armand Morin Reveals His New Video Sales Letter. Does this Signal the End of the Long Copy Sales Letter?
Internet Marketing Expert, Armand Morin, has just released a new sales letter except that this is no ordinary sales letter. Yes, it is a video sales letter and it takes video sales letters to a new level.Does this signal the end of the long copy sales letter?
For years, one of the most hotly contested questions about copywriting was - short or long copy. Until now, most Internet Marketers and Copywriting Experts would answer "Long copy." Today, the answer is less clear.
About four years ago Armand Morin paid a copy $12,000 so that he could walk onto a stage and make a video recording to promote his training event - The Big Seminar.

Copywriting Expert Ray Edwards Gives His 4-Step Formula for Writing a Sales Letter
Ray Edwards is an expert copywriter who has written copy for virtually all the major Internet Marketing experts and the copy he has written over the years spans a very spectrum indeed. He has a very simple yet obviously highly effective 4-step process for writing an income-generating sales letter. Here are Ray Edward's expert copywriting tips:1. Explain what you're selling
This is basically your headline and most of your attention has to be focused on crafting the right headline because this is the first thing that people will read and, in some cases, the only thing that people will read.
Dramatic results have been achieved in marketing results just by tweaking the headline.
And there's an evolution afoot. Video is increasing in popularity on the Internet and video headlines will be the next thing to become vogue.
Internet Marketer, Mike Stewart said in a recent interview that we are essentially an audio-visual society. The great advantage of using video is that you can target all five modalities at the same time.
"…a 2 min video done properly with a Direct Response approach, like the home shopping network does and they're master of it…I believe can convey a million words of information because you're hitting people with five modalities at the same time. You're able to control people's emotion with music. You're able to create sensations of realism with sound effects. You're able to hit all parts of their brains at the same time with visuals - multiple visuals. You're able to look them in the eye. You're able to build trust. You're able to demonstrate. You're able to give so much information."

And what Mike Stewart says at the beginning of the quote above is a critical factor in crafting an effective video headline. Ray Edwards recommends that it should last no more than 60-90 seconds. In other words, your video needs to be short and hard-hitting.
2. Here's why it's right for you
After the headline Ray says describe why your product or service is right for your target market. You have to describe the benefits of your product.
Speak to your prospects in a language that will resonate with them. Ray recommends getting inside the head of your prospects. Imagine a day in the life of your prospect.
What do they eat and drink?
Where do they work?
How do they travel?
Where do they shop?
What do they do for fun?
How do they speak?
And so on.
Your prospect wants to be understood. The more accurately you're able to build the picture of your prospect's life the more effectively you'll be able to communicate with them through your sales letter. This helps to build rapport and trust and this leads to sales.
3. Here are some questions you might have
People do not buy products or services. People buy solutions to their problems. As Persuasion Expert, Dave Lakhani, says, "People are looking for salvation" so you need to prove that your product or service is indeed their salvation.
When your prospect reads your sales letter they are going to have a a number of questions and a series of objections running through their mind. You have to anticipate the questions and objections and answer them in a convincing manner.
Get this right and you are left with a prospect without any further objections to buying your particular product or service and so they click on your order button with complete confidence and complete the sale.
4. Here's what to do right now
The next step that Ray recommends is actually instructing your prospect what to do next.
Some marketers seem reluctant to ask for the sale. The thing is you don't know from one prospect to another is at what point during reading your sales letter that they will be ready to purchase.
However, when they make that decision you don't want your prospects to have to go searching for an order link. That could result in you actually losing the sale. Armand Morin recommends asking for the sale 7-12 times!
Plus, you have to be very explicit in directing people what to do as they start the process of completing the order form. It may seem obvious but spelling things out will actually help to increase sales.
The point where a customer arrives at your order page represents a critical stage in the buying process. Many people actually have a change of heart when they get to the order page. So again, you need to ensure that the instructions for completing the form are very clear.
This is where audio and of course video on your order page can be very helpful in reassuring your customer that they are indeed doing the right thing by purchasing your product.

The 5 Best Tools to Provide Your Affiliates for a Top Affiliate Program
In a recent interview, Stu McLaren provided his recommendations for the best tools to provide your affiliates to create a top affiliate program."You want to do everything you can to take the thinking part out, to take the hard work out. And, if you do that, they'll be much more likely to continue promoting your products month in and month out and that's what we're really looking for, that on-going activity from our affiliates."

When you provide your affiliates with effective tools, straight out of the gate, they can focus on marketing your products as opposed to creating marketing tools to market your products. Some affiliates will simply get frustrated and give up if they don't have the right tools.
So here are the recommendations of expert Affiliate Manager, Stu McLaren regarding the basic tools to provide your affiliates in produce maximum sales.
1. Email Templates
Provide your affiliates with at least 3 email templates - one short and two longer emails.
The short email will get more or less straight to the point and direct the reader to a call to action. Whereas the longer email templates can provide more of a story and give more background, etc.
Choose two different angles when crafting your longer emails to give your affiliates more options. The longer emails also provide your affiliates with greater scope to add their personal touch to the content.
2. Blog Reviews
Provide your affiliates with 2-3 blog reviews. These should be written as though coming from a third party.
Your reviews should be balanced. So give the pros and cons without belabouring any negatives that your product or service might have. At the end of your review you should provide your conclusion or summary.
3. Articles
Provide about 3 articles. These can be used by affiliates in multiple locations, for example on their websites, blogs and newsletters. They can even be used offline in magazines, newspapers and in direct response mailings.
The articles can also be recorded to create podcasts. In fact, the number of ways in which the articles can be used is down to the imagination and creativity of the affiliate.
4. Banners
There are a variety of different size banners that you can use in affiliate marketing and they should be created so that your affiliate's code is automatically embedded into the banner. You want to provide the html code for your banners so your affiliates can simply copy and paste the code onto their website.
Some affiliate programs provide banners that are no more than pictures and it is left to the affiliate to work out how to link their affiliate code to the image. Remember, you want to make the life of your affiliate as easy as possible. If you take care of the technical aspects then they can take care of just marketing your products and services.
Common banner sizes are as follows:
Standard 468x60 px
Skyscraper 120x600 px
Box banner 125x125 px
Very Small 120x60 px
Banners which are 125x125 or 120x60 are very popular with bloggers because they are small and compact and can easily be integrated into a blog template or a blog post. The banner at the bottom of this post is an example of a 468x60 banner.
5. Video
Videos are more advanced tools. However, with the rate at which the Internet is evolving and with the increasing popularity of videos they will become more and more commonplace. So while videos are not expected as part of the basic package of affiliate marketing tools, they are a great asset and definitely something to consider for the future.
A short video which redirects through your affiliate's link can be a very powerful marketing tool.
So provide these tools to your affiliates and you will have a very well equipped affiliate marketing sales force indeed.

Internet Marketing Expert Stu McLaren's Proven and Tested Strategy for Recruiting Affiliates
Stu McLaren is the Affiliate Manager for some of the Internet's top marketers including Armand Morin, Mark Victor Hansen and Glazer-Kennedy. So he has a wealth of experience in affiliate management and recruiting. However, particularly if you're just starting your online business finding top affiliates can be a challenge.There are two main criteria you need to bear in mind when recruiting affiliates.
Your affiliates should:
1. Have a lot of traffic to their website, and or
2. Have a large list that they can send emails to.
So how do you find such marketers?
Here's Stu McLaren's proven and tested strategy for recruiting affiliates.
1. List Your Keywords
Make a list of keywords related to your products or services, i.e. the words that individuals would type into the Google search engine to find the type of products that you promote. Once you've written your list whittle it down to the top 20-25 keywords associated with your niche.
2. Google Search
Go to Google and do a search. Start by typing in "Keyword one + ebook". On the left hand side of your search results will be websites and blogs that organically rank high in the search engines. On the right hand side will be a list of marketers who have paid to advertise for that particular combination of key words.
Websites listed on the left hand side will be getting a large volume of traffic for those particular keywords. Therefore, make a note of these websites.
Also make a note of the websites on the right hand side because if people are paying to advertise then they are generally either:
a) Building a mailing list by directing prospects to an opt-in page, or
b) Building a customer list should the prospects directed to their website actually make a purchase.
Make a note of:
1. The contact information for the website owner;
2. The website's page rank, and
3. The website's Alexa ranking (though note that the latter is not accurate so just use it as a guideline to see the site's popularity).
Compile the data you are collecting into an Excel spreadsheet.
Next you want to repeat the process for your first keyword and words such as seminar, report, home study course, podcast, blog forum, etc.
Downside
This method is time-consuming and laborious.
Upside
Once you recruit your core band of affiliates you will likely have a global sales force working night and day to sell your products. So keep the end-goal in sight.
Plus, there is a short-cut or rather a more efficient way to conduct this research. You can use a special Search Engine Optimisation Software program called SEOElite.
Downside
This software is not free.
Upside
You will be able to conduct your research much faster and more efficiently.
So there you have it - a free way to uncover potential candidates for your elite sales force of affiliate marketers and a slightly more expensive route that will help you to achieve your goals that much faster.
However, here's the real gem. Get your recruitment done right and your affiliate sales force will start to grow virally because your affiliates will attract new affiliates to your business.
